Below are selected recreational projects
that I've either recently completed, or are
still in active development! Enjoy!
Over 600 miles of Texas roadways, culminating in a final showdown at one of the very last remaining Blockbuster Videos in the world. A perfect end to an era of childhood nostalgia, when the perfect Saturday night began with a stroll through fluorescent-lit aisles lined with hundreds of VHS and DVD titles...all calling your name! Blockbuster, you will be sorely missed!
Before the limited desktop experience got a serious facelift, it was killing me that many viewers were only seeing the desktop site.
So I made this parody movie trailer as an attempt to use humor and clever editing techniques to help drive traffic over to the mobile experience! Not sure how effective it was, but it was fun to make! :D
Nothing radiates confidence at the gym like ultra-cotton sleeveless shirts promoting the world's largest online personal recreational project showcase! Yes, these are a real thing and you can buy them! I don't have the e-commerce site set up yet so, for now, just ask me and I'll, like, totally hook you up!! These are guaranteed to make you stronger and better looking!*.
* Probably does none of those things
Take a magical spin through the DoubleParker.com mobile experience with this short video showcasing some of the biggest features of the site, including some up-and-coming features to watch for in the near future! It also features all original music from talented musicians that have contributed to themesongs over the years!
Having an abundance of Nexus 7 tablets given to me as Thank-You gifts for my contributions as a consultant for Google, I wanted to create a series of service apps that utilized tablets being used as dedicated bedside table devices in the bedrooms of my family's ranch house.
This was a simple mobile app that, when a request was sent, would "wake" the tablets in each bedroom with the desired breakfast serving-time announcement. The announcement would then be received on the other end via an accompanying tablet app.
This is the accompanying app that receives data sent from its sister mobile-based app, "waking" the tablet up from a low-powered state, and displaying the breakfast time, along with options to order (or cancel) a cup of coffee! The request is then sent back to the sister app and displayed in the form of an alert.
Backwoods Practicality Meets Urban Sheen in this new Do-It-Yourself series that explores how you can take simple utilitarianism and apply it to the modern world!
This project is on the backburner for the time being -- But the placeholder page can currently be viewed at RedNeckBlueCity.com
For use in another project, I required a Nexus7 tablet stand with a special compartment for a massive battery that would allow it to self-sustain for a couple of weeks on a single charge. I designed this stand using 3D software and had it physically printed with bio-degradable polymer filament on a friend's 3D printer. The final result was right on target!
