STILL FROM TOR TOURISM VIDEO
As a kid, Nature-Gone-Amok films were amongst my favorite TV fare, and, for years, I would comb through each month's cable guide armed with a highlighter and note the horror movies I would be tuning in for over the next 30 days. Movies like Cujo, Day of the Animals, Dogs, Squirm, Kingdom of the Spiders ... They scared the hell out of me -- It was fun! Watching Hollywood take something as innocuous as an innocent, floor-scuttling forest-critter or neighborhood pet and turn it into a ravenous, blood-thirsty creature was a cinematic parlor-trick that I found both equally fascinating and horrifying - and was something I would later attempt to recreate (albeit on zero budget) when I got my first camcorder.
This 20-second promo is heavily-influenced by those types of flicks, and, when it was released on Instagram, definitely scared the hell out of a few folks who weren't expecting anything other than me reaching out to pet a harmless baby deer, particlarly given that it was released in June, and at night. At least, here, you get a warning up front. :)
